Clear Aligners for Every Age, From Growing Jaws to Adult Smiles

Angel Aligners clear aligner treatment at Heal Dental Bukit Jalil

What are Angel Aligners?

Angel Aligners are a clear aligner system that straightens teeth using a series of custom-made, nearly invisible trays instead of brackets and wires. In clinical use since 2003 and built on one of the largest orthodontic case libraries in Asia, the system covers the full range of ages: growing children, teens, and adults, including jaw-growth correction that most people assume needs bulky traditional appliances.

At Heal Dental Clinic, Dr. Teo Xin Yi plans and supervises every Angel Aligner case personally, with postgraduate training in orthodontics and more than 10 years of clinical experience behind each treatment plan.

One System, Four Kinds of Patients

Adults with crowding, gaps, or teeth that have drifted over the years get the standard discreet aligner treatment: removable, comfortable, and planned digitally so you preview the result before you start.

Teens get the same discretion at school, with features built for younger mouths, including guides that accommodate teeth still coming through.

Growing children are covered by Angel Aligner KiD, an early-treatment system for roughly ages 6 to 12, while baby and adult teeth are still mixed. It goes beyond straightening: it supports arch development, manages space for incoming adult teeth, and helps correct habits like tongue thrusting that quietly shape how a child's bite develops.

Children with a set-back lower jaw get something genuinely different: A6 Mandibular Advancement, which corrects jaw position and aligns teeth at the same time. That one deserves its own section.

A6 Mandibular Advancement: Fixing the Bite, Not Just the Teeth

Mandibular advancement is treatment that guides a child's lower jaw to grow forward when it sits too far back, the pattern behind "buck teeth" where the upper front teeth stick out well ahead of the lower ones. Dentists call this a Class II bite, and it's one of the most common problems we see in growing kids across Bukit Jalil and Sri Petaling.

The traditional route is two separate stages: a bulky functional appliance like a twin block to bring the jaw forward, then braces afterwards to straighten the teeth. It works, but it's two treatments, two timelines, and an appliance many children struggle to wear.

A6 builds the jaw-guidance mechanism into the aligners themselves. Engineered blocks on the trays gently posture the lower jaw forward while the same aligners straighten the teeth, so both corrections happen in one comfortable, removable system. Angel pioneered this approach in 2015, and it now carries over a decade of clinical data.

Timing is everything here. Jaw guidance only works while a child is still growing, which is why an assessment around age 7 to 10 matters even if the teeth look "not that bad" yet. If your child's lower jaw looks small, their top teeth protrude, or a school dental check flagged their bite, bring them in. If early treatment would genuinely help, we'll show you why on the scan. If waiting is the smarter move, we'll tell you that instead.

Angel or Invisalign? We Offer Both, Honestly

We're one of the clinics in Bukit Jalil offering both Invisalign and Angel Aligners, which changes the conversation. We're not defending the only brand on our shelf; we're matching the system to your case.

Both straighten teeth with clear, removable trays planned digitally. They differ in features, materials, and how their kids' and jaw-correction systems are engineered, and one will often suit your bite, your age, or your child's growth stage better than the other. That call gets made at your consultation, off your scan, not off a brochure. Whichever system we recommend, the planning and supervision come from the same place: Dr. Teo, at every review.

How It Works

  1. Consultation and scan. We assess the teeth and bite, then take a digital scan. No putty moulds, even for kids.

  2. Your digital plan. You see how the teeth will move and, for A6 cases, how the bite correction is staged. We talk suitability and timeline honestly.

  3. Wear the aligners. 20 to 22 hours a day, changing sets every one to two weeks. Children's wear is designed around school and sport.

  4. Reviews and retainers. Short check-ins keep everything on track. Retainers hold the result once treatment finishes.

Frequently asked questions

What age are Angel Aligners for?

All ages. Adults and teens use the standard system, Angel Aligner KiD covers roughly ages 6 to 12 while baby and adult teeth are mixed, and A6 Mandibular Advancement treats growing children whose lower jaw sits too far back.

What is A6 Mandibular Advancement?

A6 is an aligner system with built-in blocks that gently guide a growing child's lower jaw forward while straightening the teeth at the same time. It combines what used to be two separate treatments, a functional appliance then braces, into one removable system.

How is Angel different from Invisalign?

Both are clear aligner systems planned digitally, and both work well. They differ in materials, features, and how their kids' and jaw-correction options are engineered. We offer both at Heal Dental, so the recommendation comes from your scan, not from stocking one brand.

Are Angel Aligners proven?

The system has been in clinical use since 2003 and is built on one of the largest orthodontic case databases in Asia. The A6 jaw-advancement solution has been in use since 2015, with over a decade of clinical data behind it.

How long does treatment take?

Most cases run from around six months to 18 months. Children's early treatment and jaw correction follow growth, so timelines vary more, and we'll map yours out at the consultation.

How many hours a day must the aligners be worn?

20 to 22 hours a day, removed only for eating, drinking anything other than water, and brushing. For children, consistent wear is the parent's biggest job, and we'll be straight with you about whether your child is ready for it.

What happens if my child loses an aligner?

It happens, and it's a quick fix. Each set is worn for only one to two weeks, so we usually move to the next set or replace the current one. No broken brackets, no emergency wire appointments.

Will my child still need braces later?

Sometimes, and be wary of anyone who promises otherwise. Early treatment guides growth and creates space, which often makes any later alignment shorter and simpler. Some children finish with the early phase alone; others need less treatment in their teens instead of more.
